Custom Cabinet Doors

The advantage of installing custom-cabinet doors is that you are able to get exactly what you want at a very high level of craftsmanship. While custom-cabinet doors are more expensive than the do-it-yourself variety, they afford you the option of tailoring the cabinets to the exact specifications and needs of your kitchen. While most stock cabinets can accommodate adjustments in increments of 3 inches, custom cabinets can usually apply detail up to 1/8 or 1/16 of an inch. If you have special needs with regard to accommodating appliances or wall space, a custom cabinet job may be a good option for you. Also, with custom cabinet doors, you are able to get exactly what you want in terms of shape, wood species, finish and special detailing. However, if you can't afford customs cabinets but still want some of the luxury associated with them, you may want to consider semi-custom cabinets, or cabinets built-to-order. Semi-custom cabinets are made to order, and while the custom options are limited to the manufacturer's collection, they do offer special features such as lazy Susans, and alternative types of surfaces, racks and storage spaces.
